Windows 10: CPU Temperature: How To View CPU Temperature?

Hi all,

I've been using an app called "HWMonitor" to measure the temperature of my PC's internal components and it works great, but I want to use another app to do the same thing just so I can compare the numbers that both apps give.

What's the most popular app for measuring the temperature of PC components?

Whea_Uncorrectable_Error Since recent update.

On the intel test is seems the temperature caused it to fail? Unless I am misunderstanding

It is worth adding that it passed at least 12 times on Temp then this happened, this was during "GPUStressW" this occured. The fail window said this -

Huge choice of what to show in tray, incl. temp. And there's a big choice of such utilities.

 

Hi there, NiceAndShy. Please either fill out your system specs in your settings or post them here for members to better help you.

Most often OEMs or board manufacturers have monitoring programs. You may want to research that. e.g. I have an Asus MoBo and have their utility called Ai Suite II.

 

I've been using CPUID for years and confirmed it w/other bench testing software and seems to be reliably accurate. Also it's small, .exe so it reads new scan every time, easy to copy info for sharing (what I used to build my profile info on this site when I joined. Just my 2% worth.

My motherboard was manufactured by Gigabyte, but it's about 10 years old now so I don't know if there's any software available...

 

The app I use is 'HWMonitor' and it's made by CPUID.

I'm looking for an app made by a different company so I can compare the temperatures that I'm given.

 

As dalchina mentions, there are a huge choice of temperator viewing/monitoring software available. Most of the top motherboard manufacturers produce such software such as MSI Afterburner which is a great app. Another one which I use most frequently is Speccy by Piriform.

 

I personally use "RealTemp 3.70" seems to work really good for me......Just make sure you have it set on centigrade for whatever reason on my PCs when it is set on fahrenheit it would jump all over the place.

And it works great also if you have a dedicated GPU!

 

If you have an AMD system prior to Ryzen AMD Overdrive Utility 4.3.1.0698 Download - TechSpot is most accurate program. Download SpeedFan - Access temperature sensor in your computer is also a small and fast utility.

 

There is also HWiNFO which is pretty good - it picks up more sensors than HWMonitor or Aida64 for me. Speccy (for some reason) gives me overhigh temperatures.

They should all report exactly the same but some programs apply different offsets to the figure reported by the sensors I believe. I use TPFanControl to set fan speed on my ThinkPad and in that you can manually define the offset for the various sensors to get the actual temperature. I adjusted them to match HWiNFO.

Does Microsoft have any utilities I can use to measure the temperature of my PC's hardware like the CPU?

It's pretty accurate for Ryzen but just elementary data.
