    CPU Tempreratures

Not sure if this thread belongs here, but it does involve software and win10. I've tried to get an answer on some hardware forums with no success. Anyway...

I have a Ryzen 1800+ system on win10 pro x64. It has plenty of fans and a Corsair H100i V2 cooler. I use a 3D graphics program called Terragen 4 which renders 3D terrains. I can control the number of cores/threads. However, I seem to get quite a radical difference in core package temperatures reporting between Corsair Link and HWMonitor. For example, right now at basic idle, < 4% load, Corsair Link shows 52 degrees C (CPU Package), while HW shows 34 degrees C -- Package (Node 0). All the other temperatures (GPU, Motherboard, etc) seem to agree (between Link and HWMonitor.) My H100i cooler shows 29.4C on Link, which leads me to believe the HWMonitor CPU package values is correct. Also, the package temperature shown seem to be linear (Corsair Link @ 50% load shows 68C and HWMonitor shows 49C.) I have the latest versions of both apps.My concern is under a high CPU load, if the Corsair Link temperature is actually correct, I could cause damage to continue at a high loading. How would I know which is correct? Is the Link package temp the same as the HWMonitor Package (node 0) the same thing? There seems to be a lot of confusion on the Internet about CPU package temps versus core temps. I'm confused.

    :)

    How to Restore OneNote files?

I have the same problem. Is there a solution to restore OneNote files on the phone? I did a restore and everything was ok except no OneNote files on PDA. I see they are still on the My Phone web site but cant seem to access from the OneNote in my PDA.

HI - please help me - where do I find my USB port

There are no USB ports on a CPU. The CPU is not the computer case, and the computer case is not the CPU.

I find that Ryzen Master and HW Info show most accurate data on those systems. If you want those other programs also just reference them against these two.

You can also try Speccy by Piriform, I find that to be pretty accurate. Download Unigine and see how the temps are then.

Core Temp 1.10.2 also supports Ryzen CPU's.

Here is what I see when running Corsair Link, HW, Ryzen Master, and Speccy:

Your red arrows are pointing to differing measuring points.
The ones showing 33 °C appear to be core temperatures(HWMonitor,AMD), the higher ones about 54 °C to the package(Piriform,Link).

The package being the metal plate in contact with the cooler.

Hard to tell exactly. You maybe able to find out where "node 0" is, sure that is on the CPU chip itself.

That's why I'm confused. I don't want to trust HW if Corsair Link is correct since I was told to not to exceed an 80c package temperature.

If that's under a decent load like when running a benchmark or some heavy game, those are good temps. Do try HW Info, it will give you even more detailed numbers.

Thanks. HWinfo agreed with Corsair Link, so I'm going to use those two programs to monitor my cpu temps.
