Windows 10: CPU usage constantly running at 20% on idle, along with fans running loudly on idle.

Hi.

I have a couple of questions about why my CPU is running at 20% while idle.

Along the CPU running at 20% is the memory, constantly running at the same as the CPU.

I've reinstalled all the drivers for my Alienware 17 r5 using official Microsoft means, I've run a bunch of anti-virus software scans, (windows defender, McAfee), and I've made sure nothing is running in the background like any games, anything that's hard on the CPU and I have no clue as to why this is happening.



Can anyone help my cause?

CPU (0 % in Task Manager )fans running constantly fast !!!

Hello , I bought a new laptop Asus with windows 10 on it and after 2 weeks my fans running constantly fast even if it's on the idle mood . I also have my laptop on Balanced power plan , I've lastest updates for all drivers and Bios . When I open Task Manager
, CPU usage is about 35-20 % but after 1-2 seconds it drops down to 0% and also at details System Idle Process has CPU usage about 99.

I really want some solutions ,please help !!! Thank you very much !!

 

CPU Fan runs constantly

We would like to know the following information to assist you better regarding CPU fan issue.

• Does the fan runs constantly fast or do you hear any noise?
• Have you tried updating all the drivers of your computer?
• Have you tried any troubleshooting steps before posting this concern? If yes, what are those?
• What is the memory/disk usage in task manager?

  and hit Enter. Check which application
  is taking more memory or disk usage.

CPU constantly running at 30% when laptop sitting idle

Hi,

When my laptop is sitting idle, no programs running, the CPU usage is at 30%, the fan is on constantly, and it gets very hot (Lenovo Yoga 2). Running W10 with all updates. Webroot AV. All the activity is Service Host: Local System. I am afraid that if this
keeps up it will affect the longevity of my laptop. I think it is already affecting my battery life as I cannot even get 3 hours now (laptop is just over one year old).

I have looked through similar posts, none seem to apply. I recorded 60s using the WPR as was requested in another post. Can someone help me find out what the problem is?
