    Hi guys! *Smile
Optimizer Pro, Mindspark, SmileyWeLove, Driver Updater, SlimWare - all PUPs; not worth a reinstall IMO. A lot of PUPs found in that log, but all repeats. Mindspark is a PITA too.

The OP has installed MBAM with the free trial, so he currently has active protection. I see Trend Micro is the AV. (Not the best, in my experience, but perhaps they have gotten better with time...)

I would delete everything that was found by MBAM, and then run ADWCleaner. Delete everything it finds as well.

One question: Did the OP enable Rootkit before running the scan, and was it a custom scan to check the entire HDD (plus any connected external drives)? If not, it needs to be run again - these PUPs appear to be too-well embedded in the system, and so, have been on there for quite a while. Then, Ccleaner on the registry, check the startup items listed in Ccleaner for the browsers and Windows, and I would finish with an ESET Online Scan, and then everything should be good.

All logs need to be posted; if anything malicious is found, further evaluation may be necessary (including a clean install, but at this point I don't see the necessity).

Sorry for the long set of instructions, but I am about to log off for the night. *Smile

Petra9999 do you do regular backups and images to an external hard drive. That is something everyone should do on a regular basis. It can save you in more ways than one.

Is this a free VPN? If so, that's where a lot of these PUPs come from. A lot of them also spy on you and sell your aggregated data.

Okay then. I don't use a VPN so I can't recommend one for you, sorry. Without knowing your reason for needing a VPN, could you accomplish the same just by using TOR browser?

Guys, I really have to go - can you get the OP through MBAM with Rootkit/ADWCleaner/Ccleaner/ESET, posting logs, etc.? It will run into tomorrow, I'm sure, as some of these scans will take some time. I will be happy to view the logs tomorrow for you.

Opera developer also sports a free VPN now, but I think it's still BETA, and I only used it for a couple of days - then it crashed, so it's not ready for prime time.
Free VPN | Now built into Opera browser
