Windows 10: Crackling audio and failures attaching screenshots - power cycle only a temporary fix -...

I have been plagued now for a couple of months with intermittent crackling on the audio for teams meetings/calls - and repeated failure to attach screenshots. With the screenshots you get a failure error - but you can also get where it looks like it posts but the circle status on the right does not reflect a checkmark - therefore it does not go through. I read everything saying - power cycle - but I can keep power cycling multiple times a day because it always comes back. Thoughts?

Please suggest me how to fix the crackling sound coming out of my audio device, I tried a few but didn't work.

 

Crackling audio. Skyrim + other games

USB headphones have never been kind to me. They always hiss, pop and crackle. The fact that you can hear it when no audio is being played suggests it's a power /connection issue.

Do you have any 3.5mm or RCA based headphones you can try?

I work as a DJ and recognize that crackle in other equipment. It's not something a driver installation will fix. It's what happens when speakers are underpowered by an amp. In this case the amp is being regulated to underpower by the Microsoft power settings.
Go to the battery icon in the bottom right corner. Click on "power and sleep setting." Where it says under "Related settings" click "additional power settings." If "High Performance" isn't an option listed there you can find it under "Show Additional Plans."
Select it. You're going to be using your battery faster but you'll probably kill or at least diminish the crackle. I have to keep this as my default setting and just keep my laptop plugged in for the most part because for me audio crackle at a gig is like
farting in church, sure you can do it, but you're sitting in your own pew. In the end Microsoft will have to fix this.
