Can you please provide me with more information about the steps you're taking to create the building blocks and where you're saving them? Additionally, are you using the same computer each time you create the building blocks?



While waiting for your answers, here are the strategies that we can recommend:

The trick is to understand that Building Block entries are not stored in documents; they are stored in templates. The default template in which they are stored is Building Blocks.Dotx. Since this template is available only on your machine, the Building Block entries required for the form are available only on your machine and not on others.

The solution, then, is to create a new template that will be used in conjunction with your form document. Store this template on the network drive and make sure that the form document has this template attached. Then, save the Building Block entries necessary to the form in the special template. To save a Building Block in the special template, follow these steps:

1.) Open create New Building Block dialog box

2.) Fill in the various fields of the dialog box, as desired.

3.) Depending on which version of Word you're using, use the Store In or Save In drop-down list to indicate you want the Building Block stored in your special template.

4.) Click on OK to save the changes and exit the dialog box.

The purpose of being able to create Building Blocks is for them to be available for use in multiple documents. Saving them in a single document would defeat that purpose.

Here are some other strategies you can try:

1. Manage AutoRecover settings:
   
   To do this, open Word and go to File > Options > Save. Under the "Save documents" section, make sure that the "Save AutoRecover information every" option is checked and set to a reasonable time interval (e.g. every 2 minutes).
   
2. Refresh Office Word components:
   
   Close Office Word application if opened.
   
   Press Windows logo key + R from your keyboard to open the Run dialog box.
   
   Type %appdata%\microsoft\templates, and then click OK.
   
   Remove Normal.dotm and Welcome to Word.dotx files by dragging them to your desktop screen.
   
   Press Windows logo key + R again to open the Run dialog box.
   
   Type %appdata%\microsoft\document building blocks, and then click OK.
   
   Open the subfolder under the Document Building Blocks folder, and then delete the Building blocks.dotx file.
   
3. Disable add-ins:
   
   Right click Office Word then select Run as Administrator
   
   In Office Word, Go to File > Options > COM add-ins > Uncheck all items > Restart Office Word
   
4. Repair Office Word:
   
   Go to Start menu > Settings > Apps > Find your Microsoft Office suite version > Modify/Change > Advanced options > Quick Repair

Might I suggest you simply build a computer, making notes and taking pictures step by step. Most people (probably including your teacher) have no idea even where to start building a computer. You'll do fine, and if you get stuck we're here to help ya out! *Toast :toast:
