  1. Crashes related to graphics drivers

Hello, For some time I've been having problems with games crashing and my pc crashing. Initially I only crashed while playing Path of Exile and the crashes were pretty infrequent. The error in the event viewer was "Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered". Then it got worse and I started having crashes in other games. Shortly after I tried turning on any game, the game crashed or I got a black screen and I had to reset my pc. After the first crashes I tried updating my gpu drivers. After the crashes got worse I tried stress testing my gpu with Kombustor. After about 30 seconds in the test I start getting a lot of artifacts and the same error in the event viewer. Some time after that my pc crashed while I was watching a livestream, when I reset it I got a black screen with blue artifacts on the windows login screen. Since then my gpu wasn't being detected and the nvidia control panel didn't work. Thanks partially to advice from the internet I assumed that my gpu broke so I decided to buy a new one. I bought a used GTX 1060 3GB. Before installing the new gpu I removed all the old drivers with DDU and then installed the newest drivers for the new gpu. When I tried benchmarking it though, the screen froze with artifacts on it and my pc crashed. I managed to figure out that what was causing the crash during benchmarking was the Nvidia hd audio driver. After uninstalling it completely with DDU, my pc didn't crash anymore during benchmarking. With the new gpu I could play games without crashing, except Path of Exile, which still crashed with the same error. I could also see in the event viewer that I was still getting LiveKernelEvent errors that I was getting with the old gpu. Today when I turned on my pc my screen froze with artifacts on it, on the windows login screen, same as with the old gpu. So now I'm wondering what's causing the crashes. Obviously at first I thought that my old gpu died and that was the cause of the problems. But now after buying the new gpu and using it I can see that the same problems are happening on both the gpus. I don't think the new gpu is faulty, I tested it with msi kombustor and it didn't crash or create any artifacts. So could this be just a problem with conflicting software or can it be an issue with hardware , like the motherboard or the psu? I recently changed my PSU because my old one was causing my pc to turn off randomly. Things that I already tried to fix the problems: - sfc /scannow, DISM, chkdsk - none of them showed any errors - updated windows to the newest version and using newest nvidia drivers - checked ram with windows memory diagnostic - changed windows power plan for high performance I don't have any overclocking, my BIOS is updated to the newest version. My old gpu was gtx 760. My windows is Windows 10 Pro 21H1 build 19043.1110. Appreciate any help! DESKTOP-3CLA8FV-(2021-08-05_15-20-04).zip

  2. Custom Driver : Intel HD Graphics & ATI Combo (Alpha) - by nIGHTmAYOR

according to laptop support page they do list an old downloadable driver for intel for windows 7 , weather this is related to there being several variants of that laptop or this laptop has switchable graphics i may just suggest you reset the bios and see if things change , if yes you may be able to apply step 2 , if not then apply step 4 and call it today , you are still better off being on the high performance gpu .

Out of curiosity can you take a snap shot from Settings > System > Display. Scroll down and click the “Graphics Settings” ?

    Crashes related to graphics drivers

Crashes seemingly related to graphics drivers.

My development laptop has been having trouble recently when working with anything that requires a fair amount of graphics processing power (Unreal Engine, gaming, etc). Performance also seems somewhat worse, but it may be related to whatever is failing.
The actual blue screen has changed messages a few times, but all seem to point to a driver related issue. It can go days without crashing if I use it without pushing the graphics card, but can also crash every few minutes if I'm actively trying to do that
    type of work.

I have run through all of the usual checks and diagnostics (memcheck, sfc, chkdsk, dxdiag, as well as a number of other diagnostic and troubleshooting tools)
and everything has come up clean. I have tried rolling back my drivers to older versions, clean installs, updating everything to the latest, and still the problem persists.

I'm going to continue troubleshooting on my end, but at this point I need to be able to work reliably, so I'm also uploading everything here to see if anyone can get more information from the dump than I can or if I overlooked something.

    The relevant files are here:

    Dump File and Diagnostics

I only had one minidump currently, but I will update if it happens again.
