    How do I copy all of my word documents, I have Office Professional Plus 2016. I want to create a back up of these files on a flash drive. It's the safest way to save them in case future updates for my office program is changed on the next Windows 10 Home Updates. Or you can tell me another way to do this on an external way to save the files.Ruth

    Windows Backup to flash drive

    Intending to use Windows Backup to back up my hard drive onto my flash drive, I see that Windows does not allow creation of a system image to a flash drive. The only other option is to create a system repair disk--but that seems to provide only "system recovery
    tools" if there's no system image. Can I not use Windows Backup to back up my data onto my flash drive?

    I know that I can back up my files by copying and pasting, but this is a laborious process that continually stops for files that can't be copied, and requires me to agree each time to exclude the file. If I can't use Windows backup, can you suggest an alternate
    program?

    Hello,

    Appreciate the detailed post. As per the description of the issue, this can be caused by hidden files. For us to check, follow the steps below:

    • Search for File Explorer and press Enter.
    • Click on View.
    • Put a check mark on the Hidden items box.
    • See if there are additional files and folders that will appear.

    If there are no hidden items, we suggest that you
    create a new user profile.     Since the issue is the same on different flash drives, this can also be caused by a corrupted user profile. Try creating a recovery drive in the new user profile and let us know if it works.

    Get back to us if anything else comes up.
