  1. Create Home Network: 1 modem 3 Computers

I have three PC computers all using the same modem to connect to the internet two on Windows 10, one Windows 7. Ethernet cables connect them. I would like to create a home network to share printers and software. Can I do so using only the modem or must I purchase another piece of hardware? Any suggestions and links to tutorials would be much appreciated.

    :)

W10 can't create HOMEGROUP on my computer

    Have you done this?

Solution 1 – Delete files from PeerNetworking folder

    • Go to c:windowsserviceProfilesLocalServiceAppDataRoamingPeerNetworking.
    • Delete idstore.sst and move on to Step 3. If deleting idstore.sst doesn’t work, go back to
c:windowsserviceProfilesLocalServiceAppDataRoamingPeerNetworking and delete all files and folders in it and go back to Step 3.
    • Go to the Network Settings and Leave the Homegroup.
    • Repeat this for all the computers in your network.
    • Turn off your computers.
    • Turn on just one, and create a new Homegroup on it.
    • This Homegroup should be recognized on all of your computers now.

  4. Create Home Network: 1 modem 3 Computers

Help needed with simple wired network

Step one- Connect all PC's to router, and then the router to the modem. PC's go to router by the ports labeled "1-4" on the back of the router. WAN port goes to router. Power up all network equipment, and then systems.
Step two- Power on the computer connected to port one. Go into router settings at 192.168.0.1 and configure internet, dyndns, firewall, etc.
Step three- Go to "network set up wizard" in windows. (Network places- network set up wizard). The rest is self explanatory.
Step four- right click on each drive and printer you want to share, and then configure sharing preferences. Should be easy enough.
Step five- right click my computer, and the select "map network drive". Using the network address for each piece of hardware you shared, assign network drive letters.

Congratulations, you have a fully operational network. Happy Gaming! *Toast :toast:
