    How do I restore the Default New Context Menu Items (text document) in Windows 10

    The text document is missing from the new-> drop down list. I have followed the procedure in How to Add or Remove Items from “New” Context Menu in Windows – AskVG with no change, and then I downloaded and applied the file for restoring all default new menu items provided on Add or Remove Default New Context Menu Items in Windows 10. I still have no text document in the list but now I have two shortcut items instead of one and folder is now missing. I then tried the add text document down load file from the same web site but it did nothing. It seems that the .txt in the Register is being blocked by something. Notepad works fine and everything else regarding .txt files as far as I can tell.

    How do you alter the file types that are listed when you select 'New'
    from the Windows 10 context menu? New software installations add their file types and replace items that were already listed. For example I can create WinZip and Zipx files after installing WinZip, but I cannot create a new Visio file because it is no longer
