Windows 10: Create Recovery Drive doesn't work

Discus and support Create Recovery Drive doesn't work in Windows 10 Support to solve the problem; Running upgraded Win 10 Pro X64. Tried to create a recovery drive but it doesn't work.     Create Recovery Drive doesn't work


    Running upgraded Win 10 Pro X64. Tried to create a recovery drive but it doesn't work.

    Ran DISM and SFC yesterday and both ran clean. I'll try them again now and see what happens.

    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup
    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
    SFC /scannow

    Yup,

    I guess that's what is needed.

    ...and, of course, it doesn't work if the Recovery Drive was created on a more recent version.

    Hi Irish,

    You did the right thing on creating a media recovery file from a working computer. However, you will not be able to open the zip file from that same computer where you made the recovery. The recovery files that you have created has to be connected to the
    PC that you're trying to fix. Check out the steps in
    Use a recovery drive to restore your PC    .

    In case the recovery file you've created doesn't work, check out
    Create a recovery drive    .
