Windows 10: Creating 40MHz Hotspot, possible? Windows 11

I was wondering if such thing is possible, given that the 20MHz band is only yielding 25Mbps most times from my AX200 wifi card running the March release of the drivers. Using my Note 20 with Extended WLAN details, the hotspot is only a 20MHz width.Google has not been terribly helpful in clearing this, other than that HostedNetwork will not work anymore, otherwise this issue would be null and void. My use case for a 40MHz Hotspot is for a P2P link to the Quest 2 for PCVR I don't have a link cable, while the home has WiFi 6 APs UniFi 6-lite, these are too far away for any meaningful gains o

Possible to force 6e hotspot in windows 11?

I don't find anything about forcing 6E hotspot in Windows 11 yet, other than the basics here:

I would pursue this via your PC manufacturer's Support which is included during the first year under the repair and replacement warranty.

Hopefully someone else who discovers how to do this will update this thread.

hotspot cant be created in laptop

As your using the third party app for creating a Wi-Fi hot spot. I would Suggest you to use the "Hosted Network" for crating the Wi-Fi hotspot and check.


Window contains a useful feature called "Hosted Network" that allows you to turn your computer into a wireless hotspot. Hosted Network allows your computer to connect to a wireless access point while simultaneously acting as an access
point for other computers and wireless devices. Included by default in Windows 8, the Microsoft Virtual Wi-Fi Miniport Adapter enables your computer to carry out this function. Included by default in Windows , the Microsoft Virtual Wi-Fi Miniport Adapter enables
your computer to carry out this function. You can configure and turn on your virtual wireless hotspot by running Windows commands.
