  1. Creating a Backup of a Hard Drive: Should It Be a System Image or Just an .iso file?

I'm in the process of recovering a hard drive that contained virtual instruments and samples, mainly .wav files and instrument formats like .ufs, .nki, .ewi, .ews, .sfz, .sf2, and the like. Specifically, I've just now sent it off to Drive Savers, and in a few days, they will evaluate it to determine what's wrong, as the drive recently failed due to a loss of power in my apartment complex, which was was caused by a car accident in the neighborhood. In the meantime, I'm going to put the original instruments and samples which are on DVD's that are included with programs like Kontakt, FM Tines, UV

  2. Saving System Image Backup to External Hard Drive?

    Hello,

It is best to use a blank Hard Drive when creating a System Image Backup, so that it will be easier for you to locate the Backup when needed. If you need a step by step process, here's the

    Create (backup) system image

Trying to back up my hard drive as a "system image". I see the option in the videos, but when I click on Settings, Backup, the "system image" option is not there. It just says "save these files" and lists a bunch of data files. How to create a system image?
The Microsoft technical I talked to today as me to do over the weekend, but it's not working out.

    creating system image backup

    Hi,

To better assist you with your concern, please provide the information below:

    • Are you creating the image backup from your computer and saving it to your external hard drive?
    • Does the same issue persist if you save the backup or recovery image directly to the computer?

    Regards.
