Windows 10: Creating a Microsoft account PIN

I can sign into the laptop , when I sign into my Microsoft account it prompts me to create a PIN, when I click to create the PIN it tells me error and cannot create the PIN. It gives me the option to create or wait until later, when I click on either of the options it just sends me back to sign into the computer . What can I do to fix this issue?

Hi Kevin,

To resolve your concern about creating pin to your computer, we suggest that you follow these steps:

• Navigate to C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Local\Microsoft\NGC (click to get permission when prompted).
• Delete the contents of that folder (delete everything in that folder, but leave that folder and everything above it).
• Go back to settings, accounts, sign in options.
• Your non-working pin will now be gone, and you can just click 'add a pin' and set it again.

PIN sign in for Microsoft Account

I am using the Microsoft account page under family members. In this section where it shows my Grand Daughters Account details there is no option to have a Pin Code, However on my page, as Administrator, I can create a Pin.
