Windows 10: Creating a new folder takes 25 seconds - network issue

I have read a lot of posts and tried a lot of different things to resolve it, but no luck so far. The issue is that when I open File Explorer and try to create a new folder, it hangs for 25+ seconds before the folder appears. It's like the system is searching something in the network, then it times out and creates the folder. This is reproducible every time.


To recap:


a If I open a new File Explorer window and try to create a new folder, it takes 25+ seconds before the folder appears.

b If I disable the Ethernet adapter, the problem goes away - new folder gets created instantly.

c If Ethernet is enabled and File Explorer is open for longer than 25+ seconds and THEN I try to create a new folder, it gets created instantly.


How do I fix this? Thanks in advance.

Click on the desktop.

• Press CTRL + SHIFT + N.
• A new folder should be created.
• Creating a new folder using a keyboard shortcut.

It's working for me. But my new folder option is not working anywhere not in desktop as well as not in file explorer. Whenever I am placing my cursor on new folder option, its first spinning for few seconds then goes to close the file
explorer and refresh the desktop once.

 

Why windows 10 creates a second wireless network?

The issue usually happens when you change your network password. Your PC remembered the last network successfully and when you've changed, it created another as you have set your network to automatically connect to the first one.

We suggest removing the network that you're not connected to. Follow the steps below:

• Click Start or press the Windows button on your keyboard.
• Click Settings and choose Network & Internet.
• Click Wi-Fi and then choose Manage known networks.
• Choose the network the duplicate network and click Forget.
