  1. Creating wlan 5ghz AP on win10

I recently bought Oculus Quest 2 and I read that it could be used wireless with a 5ghz router (or by creating pc AP).

The problem is I don't have one but my pc is capable of creating 5ghz Access Point but only when connected to 5ghz connection (I tested it by connecting my pc to huawei p30 pro 5ghz hotspot and then creating an 5 ghz AP).

When I'm trying to do it without internet or my phone, windows greys out AP options. When connected to 2.4 ghz router (which has internet connection) and trying to force 5ghz AP, I get an error "the selected network band is not available".

I tried microsoft store app Hotspot Lite, it worked even offline but could only create 2.4ghz connection.

So the question is, do somebody know how to create 5 ghz Access Point without 5ghz router on windows 10?

    Edit. I have Intel Wireless-AC 9560

    N95 WLAN issues

    Hi,

from my experiments with WLAN support in N95 (using fw 10.0.018), I found a few issues that Nokia should look at and solve !

List of bugs / issues / suggested enhancements

    ----------------------------------------------

    * WLAN AP does not have LEAP authentication support. Can't use it in my office network

    * WLAN AP connection is not intuitive - no diagnostic function like ping available - when it says connected to AP, AP shows no connection (from looking at AP logs and status). Only when one browses, connection with AP is made!

    * Web browsing to WLAN AP IP address fails with a mysterious error message. This is a problem of N95 firmware since I am able to browser other IP addresses (of other PCs) connected to the access point.

    * WLAN AP search and connect is quite unreliable. APs appear and vanish w/o moving from the same physical location, and signal strength is 25-50% lower than that seen by my laptop for the same AP :-(

Hope these issues are addressed in firmware upgrades!

    Regards,

    Ritesh

    Hidden WLAN Missing in N95

Web Browser (or any other App) is unable to find the Hidden WLAN whose Access Point has been alaready saved in the settings of N95.

When I turn OFF the broadcasting of the SSID, the WLAN wizard shows Hidden WLAN from which I created an AP and the phone prompted that AP is valid.

Internet Phone didn't list that in WLAN section but gave an option to use Hidden Lan, if I used the option and got connected to my SIP provider, WLAN connected icon came on main screen along with internet phone. And then when I started browsing it showed me
    an AP of hidden wlan.

But when I disconnected the Internet Phone, browser didnt list that AP.

This seems to be a bug, I am using Nokia N95(01.01) at v12. Creating wlan 5ghz AP on win10 :(

Please help me out as I am bound to use office's hidden WLAN which I cannot change to broadcasting.

    Hidden WLAN Missing in N95

When you have your WLAN hidden and configured as an AP.

Are you able to see it in the list of available APs presented by Web Browser or any other Application ?

I can only see it as HIDDEN WLAN in WLAN Wizard, none my Apps pick it up Creating wlan 5ghz AP on win10 :( even if its properly saved as AP.

    Please help.
