    Creator update frozen at 32% won't progress


    I've waited a good 30 mins so far. came back and notice the loading circle isn't moving and had been stuck at 32% for the past 30 mins. At this point I feel another update had F'ed up again. As I was expecting (not had all that great luck with major installs such as this. What's even more annoying was that this update was forced onto me.

    Anyone got any ideas???

    Was downloaded via Windows update just encase anyone was wondering.

    Unable to install Windows 10 Creators Update - Hangs at 32%

    Following your suggestion, I updated my AMD Radeon driver to the latest version (23.20.782.259) and then tried the Creators Update again. This time it stalled at 46% rather than 32% so I guess that's progress but it still won't install.

    MarkZar, can you let us know what version of the AMD driver worked for you?

    Hi DiBBz.

    If you are sure this is the Creator Update then you could follow the "In Place Repair / Update" process outlined in this tutorial.

    Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade

    Before I did this I would ensure my data is safely backed up off the machine. I would also use a tool like Macrium Reflect to create an Image of existing machine. You want a route back to where you are today.

    If you've been having issues with major updates it might just be time for a Clean install, right from scratch. More work but it definitely get the cob webs out.

    Clean Install Windows 10

    If you do the clean install you will need to reload all software and where applicable you may need to re-enter licenses. Windows 10 will re-activate on its own. That said ensure you install the same version ( Home or Pro, 32 or 64 bit)
