    Creators update and extra folders.

As I did not get any indication of update in windows update section, I updated from
    Download Windows 10
    .
    Every thing went ok.
I tried cleaning extra folders and system with following commands.
    %SystemRoot%\System32\Cmd.exe /c Cleanmgr /sageset:35 & Cleanmgr /sagerun:35
    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup /ResetBase

It cleaned windows.old and ~*.BT folders.

    Still I am left with
    $GetCurrent
    Windows10UpGrade
    $WINRE_BACKUP_PARTITION.MARKER
    occupying 196kb,19.8MB and o.

Is there any use for these folders?
    Can it be deleted?
If possible to delete, can it be deleted just admin?

    :)

WIN 10 Fall Creators Update and WINDOWS.Old Folder

This is just sort of an interest thing. I have several workstation running Windows 10 with the Fall CREATOR Update installed now. I have had success removing the WINDOWS.Old folder with no repercussions.

My questions is when does the WINDOWS.Old folder become visible? I am just finishing a fresh Laptop install and it ran the 1709 Fall Creator update. I am not seeing the folder. HOWEVER, I instantly ran the DISK CLEANUP and selected Delete Windows Update
Files. This system has been working at it now for about 30 minutes. So, I am assuming that folder was somewhere.

Just curious if it is large enough of a folder that it may require a little extra time for WIN 10 to digest and produce the folder.

    Thanks,

    Eddie

  3. "Welcome to Messaging+" notification

I don't appear to have All apps » Settings » Extras

I have Apps » Apps & features » Extras » Extras & info and then the move or uninstall
    option.

If I go Settings » Extras I then get Network services, Do you have a question?, Get help, Make Windows better and Give us feedback.

Now, when I received the phone it had been reset to WP8 (or 8.1) and after installing all available updates for that OS, I upgraded to WP10. Subsequently I received the Anniversary update and have now
installed the Creators edition so that it's running Windows 10 Mobile, version 1703, build 10.0.15208.0

I honestly can't remember if the Messaging+ banner began showing with the Anniversary update or with the Creators edition, but I did feel the need to reset Creators and the banner remained.

I then discovered the aforementioned workaround.

Interestingly, my son has a 550 which I think is running Creators edition and he has not reported having this issue.
