Windows 10: Creators Update Breaks DUN Connection: error 633

no way to use a Huawei Internet Key that uses Mobile Partner, after the upgrade.
Always Error 633.

Tried almost everything.
Reserved port Register modification doesn't work.

any ideas?

After update to Windows 10 pro "Creator Update", I'm getting this error while connecting to internet with ZTE modem MF 710M. There was no problem before this creator update, how to fix it....Please.

 

Dial up connection blocked after Windows 10 creators update.

I updated my PC to Windows 10 creators update but it blocked my dial up connection and "633 error - modem already in use" started popping up. Can anyone help me out?

 

Assume this is 3G / 4G Maybe need to reinstall the connection software? the dongle / key should show up in This PC as a drive where you can run the installer from.

Or try a different USB port.

mobile partner has not been updated since 4 years???
this could be the problem.

howewer Microsoft should not have breaked the DUN connections of his customers

I use a 3/4G router these days but just dug out an old Huawai 353 modem and it doesn't work, Error 633, it did work pre CU update. A Huawai E3231 does work however it's a modem with a builtin router, so doesn't use dun. ZTEMF730m which I use on my Laptop (not on Win10) when out and about does use dun and also errors in Win10.
I concur, MS have bust DUN in CU update.
Now going to remove all the drivers and stuff I just installed to test the modems!

Hi everyone the solution for error 633 after update is simple for modem Huwaei is to download mobile partner app for windows and install app In Dashboard - Settings-Options and Changes the Connection Type from RAS to NDIS. but you must do something else to work modem is the only way to work
press the logo of Windows in a taskbar and search Settings- network& internet- cellular and you gonna see your device usb you need add apn profile to work huwaei modem click advanced option ( probably that method gonna work with other devices) its very important to add in this section in windows because if you have set apn in your aplicaction internet does not work only you must set apn in windows and then save profile and now you can use app mobile partner for connect or disconnect device with any problems(allow windows to take control with this conection Creators Update option) to use a mobile partner app




to set apn in in many cases is to set no password no username
in Apn type set :internet (depends of your operator)
and done



probably this method also work without application mobile partner to change connection type try do only set apn in windows

I did as in this tutorial, the modem is now connected, but the cellular connection is disconnected, I can not fix it, resulting in internet not working *cry
