Windows 10: Creators update - error 0x80004005

Everytime I try and update Windows to the Creators update I get the error code:
0x80004005

I have tried a few solutions online such as SFC scan, renaming/deleting Software Distribution folder, and Windows troubleshooter.

All my Software including Windows is genuine and activated.

Can anyone help?

Upgrade from NT10 "Anniversary Update" to NT 10 "Creator's Update" fails reproducibly

So I just successfully installed KB4019472 and tried again to upgrade to 'Creators Update' - still the same error code (0x80004005) :-(

Hi, please read through the attached which makes reference to the relevant tenforums tutorials and see if that helps. There are plenty of practical tips there.

Please also post a screenshot of your partitions, preferably using Minitool partition wizard.

Ran a chkdsk and no problems found. Here are my partitions

 

Try downloading cu iso, double clicking on it and running setup.exe.

 

I have just tried this and it reached around 50%+ then came up with an error stating installation failed.

 

The 0x80004005 error code is listed within Windows as "Unspecified".. meaning a "catch-all prevent a melt-down" type thing... A clean install from a USB/DVD boot should overcome that... obviously backup first.

 

The partitions look fine, only odd thing is the reference to RAID.

chkdsk is not an adequate check on your disk- it just checks your used file structure. See my attachment for more.

There are plenty of practical tips in that doct..and the tutorials.
Like disablng any AV, doing a clean boot before upgrading, disconnecting any unneeded peripherals...

References to log files if you have any available after the reversion ... etc.

Note that some hardware has given people problems- incompatibility- notably Broadcom.

Do you have any other disks, with any Windows partitions on them? That can happen and cause the upgrade to fail.

 

I pulled out my USB Wifi stick, Then all installed ok, So try removing all usb stuff on your pc. except mouse/keyboard.
