Windows 10: Creators Update Hangs at 23%

i've had 4 out of 5 tried end up unsucessfull the only time it completed some of the tweaks for making 10 look like 7, caused 10 to no longer "Sign in" (i'd give my password then brought back to Sign in screen)

i understand this is an issue atm, has anyone had a working solution to get around this?

Thank you for sharing the possible troubleshooting steps. I was in the same position like Dhruv shared, stuck like forever at 23%, now it's showing "preparing to install updates at 41%". But still I am not sure if it will be successful
or not.

The article you shared, I checked but did not find C:\$GetCurrent after enabling to view hidden folder too.

Next I checked Andre Da Costa's answer where he suggested to upgrade manually using the Media Creation Tool or the Windows 10 ISO file. I checked Andre's comments in different different queries earlier and he had always came with
same solution.

Upgrading windows itself is a very time consuming process after that upgrading manually is another one.

I do not know how to reach the creator's of Windows 10 so I would like to share my opinion here as a regular pro user. Please make the manual upgrading process simpler and less time consuming which may include using the already downloaded file and just like
installing a new software from .exe file.

In my profession my personal laptop is also one of the important elements without which many things can not be done, so please try to make upgrade experience smoother as I do not want to miss the upgraded features as well.

Creators Update is stuck at 23%





It is showing preparing to install but it is stuck at 23% for a long time and something from the system is still consuming data... It feels like forever. It doesn't go above 23%.

 

I had the same issue, 3 times it locked up right before it does the first reboot. What fixed it for me was unplugging my SATA card that my DVD drives were plugged into. I did this after seeing someone say to try unplugging your DVD drive.
