    creators update done:missing something?

I have done the creators update on 16 may, but but windows 10 system had a problem with windowds update sinds some months: if there was a restart needed after downloading an update during the restart there was a recovery process tot restore the windows system
and the update was not installed.the creators update succeeded and now the updates work with restart.

but I'm asking if I'm missing something because I've missed a number of updates in my original windows 10 system or has the creators update reinstalled that?

Number of processes on network resource monitor in windows 10 is too high

Suggest you review and follow the steps in How to remove SvcHost.exe Malware (Virus Removal Guide) It
may not be necessary to use Hitman Pro or Zemana but they’re available in trial versions if needed.

    OR

Recommend you scan with the Emsisoft Emergency Kit (a free program): Как обнаружить и удалить угрозы с помощью Emsisoft Emergency Kit If
necessary boot into Safe Mode/Safe Mode with Networking to download and run the scanner or use another computer, put the EEK file on a flash drive and insert the flash drive in the infected computer...you can run the scanner from the flash drive. Other scanners
(some of which may be run in Safe Mode or from a flash drive) that may help with this issue are listed in List
    of Malware Removal Tools

Note that some users report a reset or clean install is required to eliminate the svchost.exe malware issue.

    Creators Update: number of processes

Hi, whilst waiting for someone who has the CU to comment, suggest you post a screenshot of your task manager illustrating this, and perhaps comment on whether your typical total memory use has risen. (That's a bit less than obvious, unfortunately, as your page file usage is also a major aspect)

I don't recall when it happened, but at some point MS changed the way it manages service processes. In the old, Windows 7 days, there were always many services that shared a single SvcHost process, and now, if you have enough memory, it will run those services stand-alone (it still runs them in groups if your memory is below a certain threshold).

You need over 4GB from memory - this change was done a long time ago on Insider versions.

    Hi dalchina.
I'm writing from my desktop Win10Pro. I did the update on my notebook (Win10Home). At the present time I cannot do a screenshot but I think jimj's right (in the post after yours): I didn't notice higher CPU usage and, after all, after the boot used memory is almost the same (about 17-18%, if I remember correctly, on 8Gb RAM).

I just clean installed the Creators Update on a VM yesterday. I fired it up this morning, connected via RDP to it, and according to Performance Monitor on the Performance tab, my # of running processes on boot was 105, it dropped to 102, went up to about 110.

After about 35 minutes ( i had a meeting), it had settled in at 105.

Seems about normal to me (The overall # of processes, but there are a lot of svchost). I'm looking at my Work laptop (running anniversary update), is sitting at 120 processes.

    (get-process |where-object {$_.ProcessName -Match "svchost"}).Count

Returned 68 instances on my Creators Update install, while that same command only returned 18 instances on my anniversary update work laptop.

Yes: 14 instances on my Win10Pro (not yet updated) and 63 instances on Win10Home (Creators Update).

    Thanks again. *Smile
