  1. Credential Manager not saving details

Windows 10 Machine running OS Windows 10 Pro Version 21H1 Updated to latest available version as of 04/10/2021.When going to save details in credential manager the details are saved if the profile stay's logged in however if a reboot or a log off and log back onto the account the credential manager doesn't store any details or any stored details are removed. The details are removed if manually input the details or if they're stored from an application example Outlook.Steps carried out: -1. sfc /scannow found no errors or results.2. Credentials Manager... a general question.

    A bit more info...

I've looked at the saved passwords in Edge (using the Tut Phil suggested) and the passwords there match exactly with those in the Credential Manager). There is no tenforums password in there, in fact only six of around thirty to forty site details are showing.

I'm wondering, is this really a cookie issue with the site itself holding the details and simply recognising the PC in question via a cookie ?

  3. When, oh when, will Microsoft correct the credentials manager error?

    Hi Russell,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

As a workaround I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it
    helps.

    • Open the Edge browse

    • Click on (…) More actions in the upper right corner of the browse

    • Click on "Settings

    • scroll to the bottom to "Advanced Settings”

    • click on "View advanced settings"

    • scroll down to "Privacy and services"

    • click on "Manage my saved passwords"

This shows the websites you have saved passwords for. They are listed in random order if you click on an entry it will display:

    • The URL

    • The Username
Select one of the entries and change one of the passwords, click on Save to Credential Manager and see all of your saved "Web Credentials”.

Also clear the Edge and Internet Explorer data caches (but not the password cache) and

Re-boot your PC before performing this fix.

    Hope it helps.

  4. Credential Manager not saving details

    credential manager

    Hi,

Credential Manager allows the user to view and remove saved credentials for applications, web pages and networks. If your computer has been compromised, we suggest that you remove all information from the Credential Manager for security purposes.

Feel free to post back if you have other concern.
