Dear Microsoft,I get this problem in my laptop Dell G5 5500, that my PC shutdown automatically while I'm working and its very disturbing my laptop has a cooling pad and also a fan to cool the top side so I think overheating is not the issue here. It happens at both instances where I connect it to power adopter and when I'm working on battery power. So can u please help me fix it. I will attach the relevant event details that I believe is the reason for this problem. Please kindlyhelp me fix this issue as soon as possible.Device specifications Dell G5 5500Device name xxxxxxxxxxProcessor Intel

How to stop computer from entering sleep under "Critical Battery Trigger Met" misidentification?

    I'm using a Lenovo Laptop, Windows 10.

Recently I think the battery cell is not fully functioning, and system occasionally triggers the Event 524, Critical Battery Trigger Met and subsequently, the Event 42,The system is entering sleep., even though the laptop is connected to the power source AND the battery is more than 95% charged.

Obviously, the system is misreporting the battery condition, and hence resulted in the above trigger, and then subsequently, the sleep event. This is very annoying because it disrupts the rhythm of my work.

How to stop the system from entering the sleep mode if the Event 524, Critical Battery Trigger Met is (mis)reported, and despite (potential) battery fault?

Some asked: how do you know that this is a misreporting, and not because the battery is really dying? My answer:

    1. It's simple. Right before the machine goes to sleep, the battery is still more than 95% charged.
    2. Does that really matter if the battery is dying? I am connecting the laptop to a power supply. So even if the battery dies the laptop should still have power supply, right?

  3. Kernel-Power event id 41. BugcheckCode 0

    Hello,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

In-order to get more clarity on this issue and to assist you with appropriate troubleshooting steps, reply with answers to the below questions:

    1. Are you aware of any changes made on your PC, prior to this issue?
    2. Is this issue specific while playing a particular game?
    3. Which edition of Windows are you currently using?

A Kernel Power Event 41 can occur in the following scenarios.

Scenario 1: The computer restarts, and there is a Stop error BugcheckCode in the event data.

Scenario 2: The computer is shut down by pressing and holding the power button.

Scenario 3: The system randomly restarts and no Stop error BugcheckCode is listed, or the computer is completely unresponsive (hard hang).

I suggest you refer the article on Kernel
    Power Event ID 41
and follow the steps for the scenario that is causing this error on your PC.

Additionally, you can refer the article on Windows
Kernel event ID 41 error "The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first" in Windows

    and check if that helps.
