Windows 10: Critical Error Kernal-Power Random shutdowns

Hi. I have tried so many things to diagnose this, but my pc keeps randomly shutting down when I'm running games. It's even worse when I run a game and have discord open in the background. In the past 11 days, I have had 10 critical errors, 2 of them being in the last hour. Kernal-power 142 Random shutdown

Before we assist further, I would like to ask you a few questions:

• Did you make any recent changes to the computer?
• Does the issue occur on performing a specific action on the computer?

I did a hard reset on my laptop and I went to put McAfee back on and windows defender would no longer update at all, it kept trying to install an update for it but this could never be accomplished. I did an update last night after posting this plea for help
and now windows defender updated and scanned.

The shutdown happens randomly I can be playing a game, or browsing online, or just sitting here with my computer on not touching it at all.

I did the troubleshooting like you suggested and it found no problems. I will run in safe mode for a few days and see if it happens again, but as I've said it is a random thing.

Yes, it's explained in the first step tutorial how to read the Event Viewer logs. The Administrative Events log is fine, just study the Errors before the crashes, which are signified by the Critical event you posted.

The fixes for Random Shutdown may save time, though, since they are known fixes for a known issue.

 

Blue Screen Of Death! Found Critical kernal Power 41 (63) error!

Helllo,

I have checked the device manager for bad drivers, there are no yellow

exclamation marks by any of them. I have checked for hardware issues and

found a list that had said critical with a red x kernal power 41 (63. How do I

fix this, I keep getting the blue screen of death even after I updated windows

10, the 22h or something whatever it is called. I couldn't do the bootable

media or install it because of the blue screen interfered with my trying to

do with this procedure, I would like the instructions to try it again

but lost the instructions from a Microsoft chat.
