Windows 10: Critical Error

    Critical Error


    I tried to change my graphics card so first I installed a program called display drivers uninstaller DDU and then restarted my PC. I turned everything off and then I tried to change it but I didn't have the right cable so I put everything back and put my normal graphics card back too. I turned on my PC and installed the drivers and software back but when I pressed my windows key, it said "Critical Error. Your start menu isn't working. We'll try to fix it the next time you sign in." so then I watched videos and they said to reboot in safe mode. I did that but it's still not working. I also tried the uninstall windows update thing but that is also still not working. One more thing that I tried doing is restoring my PC. I chose the restore file from 3/29/20 so I thought that it would work but it still didn't. Can anybody help?!

    • What is the exact error message you received?
    • What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

    I do appreciate your efforts and time.

    I suggest you to try the steps below and check if it helps.

    I would suggest you to follow the steps:

    • Open the Task manager. Here’s a tip: Press CTRL+Shift+ESC.
    • Click File > Run New Task.
    • Make sure you have a check mark beside “Create this task with administrative privileges”.
    • Type CMD.
    • Type the following commands at the CMD prompt:

      powershell

      Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers |Where-Object {$_.InstallLocation -like "*SystemApps*"} | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}
    • Close the CMD window.
    • Check to see if the issue is resolved. If not, restart the PC.
    Also refer to the suggestions provided by Ravinath and check.

    “Critical Error – Start menu and Cortana aren’t working. We’ll try to fix it the next time you sign in.”
