Windows 10: CRITICAL PROCESS FAILED continues after reinstalling

I have an HP desktop pc running Windows 10, which is came with. It bought it new about 9 months ago. It's a secondary PC that I don't use much. It was running fine until recently I started getting the Blue Screen O' Death and CRITICAL PROCESS FAILED message. Somtimes it will run fine for an hour then die. Sometimes it dies 5 minutes after startup.


I used the utility that came with the pc to reinstall windows. I'm getting the exact same behavior.


I right-clicked the C drive and scanned for errors. No errors were found.


I see C:\windows\minidmp there are 3 dmp files. The instructions I found for reading them aren't clear to me.


I have noticed in Settings - Windows Update, there's a message it keeps trying to install a windows update and failing. It's trying to install KB4338825.

To resolve your concern about the critical process died in Windows 10, we suggest that you do the system diagnostics. Here are the steps:

• Boot your computer and continuously press ESC key on your keyboard until you reach the
  Startup menu.
  
• From the Startup menu, press F2 (or whatever the designated key is) for
  System Diagnostics.
• Use arrow keys to navigate and choose Hard Drive Check.
• Choose Extensive Check.

Allow it to finish then boot your computer as normal.

Critical Process Died on windows 10 setup

Ive just opened event viewer as you suggested but I cant seem to find any error that says "critical process died"



I have attached a screenshot of the event viewer. I have scrolled to the bottom to where it first booted up.

Ive downloaded the software you sent the link for but I'm not sure how to use it as nothing shows up when I load it.
