I downloaded something on my school laptop for school an exe file, and I ran it even when it warned that it could be malicious because I didnt think anything of it, then I suddenly got a notification that crowdstrike went offline for my protection or something like that. I checked my notifications but that popup had dissappeared. Then when I went to search something up on any of my search browsers, I was unable to connect to any sites even though I had full internet 4 bars. I checked the windows security settings and it showed crowdstrike was on and everything was working fine though. I am c

E71 web browser will search for WLAN connection in offline mode without asking

The E71 web browser will search for and present a list of WLANs whilst the phone is in offline mode without asking first. When you then select a WLAN from the list, it does ask if you wish to create a WLAN connection in offline mode. Surely it should ask
    before searching?

  3. How can I get Office 2019 (NOT 365) to open files in offline folders when not connected to the Internet?

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

Is your computer connected to any Domain Network?

I suggest you to follow the below steps to remove the offline files and clearing the cache and check if you are able to access the files if not connected to the internet.

Before trying the below steps, I suggest you to take a backup of all the files in the Offline Folder.

    • Open Sync Center > Click on Manage Offline Files on the left and select
Disable Offline Files > Restart the computer once.
    • Then, click on the Start Menu > Search for
Command Prompt > Right-click on Command Prompt > Click on
      Run As Administrator.
    • Once the Command Prompt is up and running, type the following commands one by one and hit
      Enter.

    cd c:\Windows

    takeown /f csc /r /a /d y > NUL

icacls csc /grant AdministratorsCrowdstrike went offline, now can't connect to anything on browsers even though I do have... :(F) /t /l /q

    • Then, delete the folders under C:\Windows\CSC >
Restart the computer once > Enable Offline Files again and check if you are able to access the files.

For reference, you may also refer Can't open
files offline when you use Offline Files and Windows Information Protection

Crowdstrike went offline, now can't connect to anything on browsers even though I do have...

W10 can connect to wider internet but cannot access web pages

I have an odd issue with my W10 laptop linked to Sky broadband in the UK via wifi using a Sky router. The effect is that while I can actually access the internet (I can send and receive emails using Outlook and can connect to other machines using TeamViewer) I cannot access any web site (Google, BBC etc). There is no specific error message, merely that the access request timed out and a suggestion that it may be to do with proxy. I have tried the following:
    1. Other systems (W10 and ios) can access web sites using the same Sky router (therefore probably not a router problem)
    2. I have sent and received emails using Outlook, so the broadband connection is working (probably not a Sky problem)
    3. I have tried two different browsers (Firefox and Edge), no connection (not a browser problem)
    4. I am using Windows Defender and have:
      1. Made sure that Firefox is in the list of allowed systems in its Firewall, no connection after a reboot
      2. Turned off the Firewall and tried again - no connection
My next step will be to re-install Windows, but has anyone got any other suggestions? Could it be some sort of virus (I have carried out a complete virus check using Defender) So - any suggestions?
