    CTRL+ALT broken by Win10 update


    Hi there,

    I have always, since XP, use hotkeys to launch my most used programs and I have them working correctly in 2 other Win10 pro machines, however on this latest install of Win 10 Pro they stopped working after a Windows update.

    Examples:
    CTRL+ALT+C to launch Google Chrome
    CTRL+ALT+N to launch NoteTab Pro

    Other Info:
    *IF* I go to the location of the shortcut in the start menu and leave that folder window open they do work,
    however if that folder is closed they go back to unresponsive.

    On a guess ... I have tried changing permissions on everything I can think of setting them to Everyone = Full Control
    but still no luck.

    Any ideas?
    I'm getting close to a clean install but would like to figure this out if possible.

    Screen Saver won't turn off

    After installing Win10 Creators update, the Screen Saver won't turn off with mouse or any key. Only Ctrl-Alt-Del, then cancel, returns me to my screen.

    Windows 10 Taskbar and desktop disappeared

    Interwebs to the rescue. I found the ctrl+alt+del fix of restating windows explorer on an old thread from 2008. The only thing it would accept was ctrl+alt+del and restart of explorer.exe.

    Glad to see I'm not alone in this and that this fix works well.
