Ctrl alt delete to type in password in windows 11 is turned on automatically after an update

I'm using a laptop with a fingerprint sensor. After a Windows 11 update, it forces me to press ctrl + alt + delete to use my fingerprint or type in a password. This gets pretty annoying fast. I've tried changing the it by running netplwiz at the advanced section but the option is greyed out.Any help would be kindly appreciated

    :)

Ctrl+Alt+Delete password entry from turned-off screen always results in incorrect password

I'm not quite sure what that means but I discovered if I hit Esc first then wait for the background to turn on, I can then hit Ctrl+Alt+Delete to type in my password.

This takes longer and is more steps than Windows 7, XP, 2000, 98, and 95 which was just to hit Ctrl+Alt+Delete then type the password to log in.

I don't know why Microsoft added steps and made it take longer.

    • Click the Advanced tab.
    • Under Secure sign-in, check the Require users to press Ctrl + Alt + Delete checkbox.
    • Click Apply.
    • Restart your computer.
    • Open the same settings again and uncheck the Require users to press Ctrl + Alt + Delete checkbox and follow the

Ctrl alt delete to type in password in windows 11 is turned on automatically after an update

Ctrl+Alt+Delete password entry from turned-off screen always results in incorrect password

On Windows 7, when the screen timed out, I hit Ctrl+Alt+Delete then type the password and it logged me in even if it took a while to show the screen. On Windows 10, I always get incorrect password.

What is it actually doing when I hit Ctrl+Alt+Delete from a timed-out screen?
