    Ctrl+Alt seems stuck, but only when I press a specific key?


    I was having class online when suddenly my computer started acting very weirdly.

    Basically it works fine until I press 7 or 8. For some reason once I press these keys it starts acting as if I were holding Ctrl+Alt. So for example, when I press 4 it inserts £, and I cannot type the number 4, or any other key for that matter.

    What could be causing this? How can I fix it?

    Edit: I opened the Virtual Keyboard, and it still doesn't work, in fact when I press 7 or 8 Alt appears stuck.

    Hi Diane,

    Conflicts with the user account settings is one of the possible reasons why the secure sign-in option is enabled on your computer even if the box in the settings is not checked. I would suggest that you enable and disable the
    Require users to press Ctrl+Alt+Delete. You can follow the steps below:

    • Press the Windows key + R.
    • Type control userpasswords2 or netplwiz and press the Enter key.
    • Click the Advanced tab.
    • Under Secure sign-in, check the Require users to press Ctrl + Alt + Delete checkbox.
    • Click Apply.
    • Restart your computer.
    • Open the same settings again and uncheck the Require users to press Ctrl + Alt + Delete checkbox and follow the
      steps 5 and 6.
