Now, how fast can someone slipstream this SR1 into the Win 10 ISO, and see how that does at clean install compared to 10240 release *Smile

 

So, in future whenever there is big "SR" update like this - Will it be updated into the main .ISO also OR it will always remain standalone updates after installing main windows 10 files. -- I am talking about official MS stand.

BTW, I have checked windows version number and it shows: 10.0.10240, I think even before the update it was the same? Pls correct me if I am wrong.....

 

With Windows 10's planned continual evolution, I would expect downloadable install media to be periodically updated to keep pace with the changes. How often that happens though, is anybody's guess. This being a cumulative update, anybody doing a clean install now, should just get this one, and not all the other one's released before it. That should speed things up some. This one big patch is likely smaller than all the separate ones added together too. If I read the description correctly.

 

It offered to install once and suggested a reboot time of 03:30. I elected to restart straight away, and the update was shown as successful.

Then this morning I noticed that it had woken the PC at 03:30 and installed the update again, so I have it shown as two successful installs in the history (same as gzt7d8 earlier).

Any idea how to stop WU waking the machine - I wouldn't mind so much if the machine would sleep again, but that's been broken for ages...

 

Just noticed if I go to my Microsoft Account and check my devices. It appears to list what build of Windows 10 each one is running. M4N68 has this update, the others don't.

 

I'm not here to debate the merits of running optimized defaults, I was attempting to help someone with a problem.

 

Same here with the DVD so did a check on media center & it is now missing the codecs after the Win 10 install

 

Hi, well, several attempts via Windows update => 0x80070564; downloading the update, manual installation => "Initialising installation" - that's it.

OK - I now have 2 desktops not working at all after this update - when pc's rebooted, they crashed. One is in a state of doing absolutely nothing when turned on. The other will go the the repair screens, etc but says a partition is "missing". Both were running fine yesterday with SFC having no integrity problems. I am most concerned about the one which will not do anything when turned on, but naturally concerned that I'm going to have to replace BOTH. Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

 

Yup ..I had 1 touch pad driver kept failing to install for 3 days ... finally It went away yesterday and new updates came trough fine now ...
