Windows 10: Cumulative Update KB3081438 for Windows 10 August 14th

What I'm wondering about edge is it appears to be a Metro App not a desktop program? so maybe its never going to be a full desktop program that we are all used to?

I had this issue before where Windows Update would install the same driver (15.200.1055.0) over and over, so I ended up disabling driver updates from Windows Update.

What does the driver date say?

I think that was the idea from the start, Kinda sandboxed without sandboxing.

 

I just wish MS would do away with the black screens when you reboot. I like to see what they are doing to my machine.

 

That would spoil everything for them.

 

I wonder if enabling verbose logging would give you anything on reboots.

 

If he has an SSD and uses Fast boot and Quick startup, he might just see a flash.

For ALL boot information(not just boot times) open up Event Viewer and create a custom view with these settings:

 

You then can pick a specific boot and see information like this:

Cumulative is nice. Less updates to have to do after a clean install. Works for me. It would be nice to know what the "enhancements" are if any though? Without having to go hunt them out.
