  2. The Windows 8.1 ISO's available via its MCT are periodically updated. I would expect the Windows 10 ISO's to be too. I wouldn't expect it to be frequent though. They aren't going to update it every time an update is released. More like once or twice a year I would think. If a big upgrade gets released.

  3. I think I am seeing a border now around the start menu, its very faint/light grey

not sure if its related to accent colour, I have mine set a chose a colour based on background

AH HA!!! Sorry it took a bit, I just clean installed my desktop and am still in the middle of setting up. Yes I use the aerolite that Shawn has posted in a tutorial, for the color around the window chrome.... that must be it, very good catch!!

  5. I've tried hibernation for the first time (ever), it seems to come out of it ok, but if I have Edge open during hibernation Edge freezes after coming out of it. After closing Edge it will not relaunch without a restart.

Guess I'm pretty safe, then because my computer sleeps within minutes after I walk away from it. *Smile

BTW, there are quite a few "fixes" to secure your computer and keep it from telling on you.

One more thing: I can't help but feel like Microsoft keeps track of us because they want to be sure we're not pirating anything Microsoft. *Smile

So the problem is with Edge, not hibernation itself. We know Edge is just on the edge currently *Smile.

I have always had this border around the notification area that comes in from the right; now I have it around the start menu as well. No special theme, besides photos and "select color based on image".

I don't have borders, but I have this yucky green from the current background (hurry up and change to another one, please). Why couldn't it have chosen the nice light purple of the flowers instead? *092 Which makes me wonder how it selects the colors.

  11. *Eek News flash !

Strange border appears around some start menu's.

What is causing this phenomenon ?

Is the sky falling ? Is it the end of the world as we know it ?

No, its a slight improvement unnoticed until now.

Is this the beginning of the end of windows which some of us love to hate for any minute reason ?

It could very well be, film at 11 !

I believe it's a shadow effect. It's not based on accent color, because my accent color is set to orange, and the border is grey.

I remember a dumb trick from Windows 3.0. If you had black text and changed to a black background, you couldn't see anything to change it back. You had to reinstall Windows. Don't ask me how I know. *chuckle
