The borders are there, they just don't show unless you're running a bordered theme.
Without a bordered theme, snap windows 'side by side' and there will be gaps:

run borders and the gaps are filled:

Interesting to note that setting transparency on shows the border placeholder around the Start Menu as it has to blend into Explorer:

transparency off and the Menu runs straight XAML:

I don't get such a wide gap like you. For me, the gap between windows is 1px with a 1920x1080 resolution.

  5. The gaps only appear if you right click the taskbar and "show windows side by side" or "show windows stacked".
If you drag the windows to the edge of the screen you don't get the gaps; at least that how it works on my system.

You are right, if I use the taskbar context menu as you have described, I can see the big gap between the windows.

  7. Folks, anyone here has a jittery cursor since the August 14th cumulative update? By and large, the cursor follows the mouse, but every now and then (not always) the cursor jitters *Sad Makes me paranoid about black hats *Devil

  9. I've had that type of issue with my laptops touchpad in the past. Not lately though. Never did figure out what was causing it. Only happened if I kept my finger on the pad and didn't move it.

This happened to me yesterday, but so far it has only happened once so I haven't paid much attention to it.

Using a Logitech M510 (keyboard/mouse combo) without Logitech drivers. So far, so good.
