By strange coincidence, Disk clean-up gained me 799MB of disk space

it's a lot for an update
can/does disk clean get rid of this 799 mb ?

I have two computers. In my main computer (see my specs) the cumulative update went fine through Windows Update on the first go. In my second, test computer (specs follow), I tried 3 times through Windows Update and it stuck at 61% and then undo changes as it encountered some problem and could not complete. I even tried to do it manually by downloading it from Microsoft Update Catalog site. It stuck again. Before you ask I already tried to disable any third-party service, startup application and non-important devices. Nothing changed. I include a log from the forum utility in case anyone can tell me what's going on.

Successful updates on 2 PCs and a laptop. All through WU, all good!

It is now called the ‘Connected User Experiences and Telemetry Service’ – which is both a) deliberately vague, and b) misleading (don’t ‘Connected User Experiences’ sound great). Even sneakier is, in being renamed, Microsoft also reset users preferences. Those who dug deep into the Windows 10 registry to disable DiagTrack will find it has been re-enabled now it is called the Connected User Experiences and Telemetry Service. Yes, tracking is back and without any warning and your preferences were irrelevant. The good news is you can disable the Connected User Experiences and Telemetry Service the same way as DiagTrack: 1- Hold down the Windows key and tap the R key 2- In the box that opens type ‘services.msc’ and press the Enter key 3- In the ‘Services (Local)’ section locate ‘Connected User Experiences and Telemetry’ and double-click it. 4- In the ‘Service status’ section click ‘Stop’ 5- Under the ‘Startup type’ drop down menu select ‘Disabled’ and then confirm this and close the window by clicking ‘OK’ Note: it is advisable to disable Not delete the service. Perhaps yours didn't take. Might want to take a look at your Update History.

 

I have tried installing the update multiple times manually and through windows update however everytime my PC restarts I get a message "we couldn`t finish installing updates" message!! I have done a sfc /scannow and had no errors

 

DONE ... don't see any thing different ..!

 

It's a good update, Win10 seems more faster and found no issues.

My Google Chrome page seems to open faster ..!

 

It appears this update causes an issue with 3147 laptop. Log in screen never appears just black screen with back light on. Sys restore fixes but update gets reinstalled and issue reappears. Have tried BIOS reset, gpu drivers remove/reinstall. Only way to get screen to work is to boot w HDMI connection with an external monitor powered on. HDMI can be unplugged once login screen appears. Big hassle.

Ok, all of you saying that your computer is magically faster... It's not. Placebo effect of the update, that's all.

 

How do you know if my computer is faster or not? Are you from Microsoft spying on my computer?
