Windows 10: Cumulative Update KB3201845 Windows 10 Build 14393.479

Well, Outlook 2010 no longer responds to the mouse forward / back buttons after the update. Anybody else find this, or is it something else? Other apps like Firefox and Windows Settings don't show the problem. Weird.

 

Dell XPS-8500 Desktop running Pro
Inspiron 15 i5559 Laptop running Home

Both took what is my average of about 30 to 35 minutes with no apparent issues.

 

after this update when trying to type in my login password on my toshiba satellite the letters no longer are visible. Its has some bug affecting my laptop keyboard. Not impressed *Sad

This finally came through 1 week later.

 

WTF....I have just spent 3 hours downloading this update on a desktop and Surface Pro 4.
The desktop locked solid while trying to install, spinning dots stopped, but note underneath stated "don't turn off your computer"
Left it for an hour, then decided to do a hard shutdown....restarted, checked installed updates, failed, so started all over again.
Finally success....see attachment.

Surface Pro 4 was stuck on 95% downloading for 2 hours....an hour later, 3 hours in all finally installed....this on high speed fibre optic.
Another annoyance it wiped out my Bluetooth speakers replacing them with inbuilt Realtek.

This being on a released O/S to the general public, its just not good enough M$.

Googling KB3201845 turns up a lot of hits reporting internet connectivity problems (although at least one article admits that the reports of problem started several days before KB3201845 was released). Most, but not all of the reports imply problems with wireless adapters. Some report that Microsoft has given a circumvention of restarting (but not shutting down followed by rebooting).

Is this all just fear-mongering or are there problems with this update?

 

I do have some goofy problems with my laptop (SP3) on restart. It's connected via WiFi and sits at "Preparing Desktop", just spinning. Restart with hdwe button gets it back up, not clicking Restart.
