Windows 10: Cumulative Update KB4013429 and KB4013418 Windows 10 Build 14393.953

Have 2 systems automatically updated successfully, 3 to go, so far so good.

 

I always manually download the updates from the catalogue, install them, reboot, then run windows update to see if I missed anything else.

That method always works best for me.

Yes, one of the lengthiest updates in my recollection.

 

Once again, Disk Clean-up shows the familiar 3.99TB of updates to clean up. It has been working away for over an hour deleting all the hard links (multiple pointers to the same physical file) that cause this apparently impossible anomaly.





Update: just finished, took an hour an a half to clean up.

Yea, I didn't keep track of when I began the Cleanup but mine has been working for some time. Guess that's the price we pay for this Microsoft Drive Expansion Technology. *Wink

 

installed via windows update / no issue at all

 

Took a long time. 4 hour 45 minutes
But all okay.

 

Seems to work, but...
After it's complete, go to shutdown & stuck getting windows ready don't turn off your computer

On laptop pushing power button will put it to sleep instead of shutdown. Just have to keep trying until it does shutdown.

When started up, it give the same message for a few seconds, then completes.

This is nothing new with this update, it's done it before.

 

Quite slow to be honest been waiting for 5min+

 

Two of my Desktops just updated to Build 14393.953, so far no issues.

 

Stuck on 95% for 1 hour. I guess it may finish by tomorrow morning.*sarc

 

Anyone else having this problem with stuck when restarting pc ?
