KB4017100 MPT driver update for Windows 10 Version 1607 - - Windows 10 Forums

 

It says this update KB4017100 was released yesterday on 28th March but when I did my manual check for updates this morning on the 29th this did not come down. Only got the usual defender update. I suppose it's not relevant to everyone then? Of course timing could be a factor as I am in UK and we are ahead of US so maybe something has come down since 6am UK time which is when I last checked for updates

TTT? OK, so I guess brink is busy, anyone else know if should install kb4016635(?) If I did not have trouble with any of the other updates? Remember, kb4016635 (so far) is only available on the 'Update Catalog' page. Thank you! TTT

If you do not have either of these issues, as stated in post #1, leave it at 14393.969.

• Addressed a known issue with KB4013429 that caused form display issues with CRM 2011 on Internet Explorer 11.
• Addressed the issue with KB4013429 that prevents users from updating apps from Windows Store with 0x80070216 error.

Most users world-wide know nothing about this KB, since it affects only a few (relatively), and it is never offered thru WU. Advice? Leave it only. Stay @ 14393.969.

That's true, but it's really not released to general public yet. If he wants to, fine. To get that ISO, he'd need to be registered in Insider. Get it officially, that is.

 

Without touching my SSD-WIN10-14393.953 in what ever way, after booting my SSD Windows decided to auto-change & delete - read totally screwed up - my language settings back to Dutch (my original Windows 8 OEM dvd is the nl_nl version) *Mad

1. 14393.953 (untouched and NOT updated to .970)!




2. Windows even deleted my ENG language package?




Any suggestions / directions what the heck happened and more important, how to prevent this issue in the future? TIA!

MS Edge worked well for me, KB4016635 was downloaded and installed without any problems.

If you aren't having those problems you do not need the update--that's why it doesn't come down through WU. BTW, if you are running McAfee's, that program is a bogus monstrosity anyway and I would certainly without hesitation uninstall it immediately...*Wink Defender is far superior and designed to work with your OS in a friendly way (McAfee's sticks itself everywhere it isn't wanted in the OS. UGH! Kludge barely begins to describe it.)

Also, I installed the 970 update manually into my wife's Anniversary build and was surprised to see how long the process takes--30-40 minutes, IIRC. So if you have 969 installed and do not have McAfee's or store problems then leave 970 alone, is my advice.

I haven't had any problems updating apps until tonight when Windows Store with 0x80070216 error comes up when trying to update the Deezer app! Strangely an app update was also offered for Skype preview at same time and that one updated just fine. I wonder if this error does relate to this KB fix or there are glitches on MS server end. Just seems strange this one isolated app won't update. Can't see any point downloading this KB to move up from .969 what with Creators update due tomorrow but it's frustrating nonetheless as I'd like my apps to be all upto date before the big update begins. Anyone else have Deezer and seeing problems updating it?
