Windows 10: Cumulative Update KB4020102 Windows 10 v1703 Build 15063.332

Mine looks like this.... if this is what you are seeing after the update, white/grey rather than blue (I think it was) then it is not to do with this update, must be the CU update *Smile mine has not done this one yet...

 

I've got the dark theme enabled but the change I notice is the highlighting of certain banks of buttons (depending which calc option you have selected).

 

Just changed mine to "scientific" like yours, and mine also show two colours the same.... so must have been a CU update addition, as I say I am still waiting for Windows Update to deliver this latest update

 

I am amazed that I cannot view the uploads any longer. I want to show reliability report below: Can't use hub, store and hub no longer link. I have rebooted computer, still no good.

 

My main machine (15063.332) has the new look calculator, but I'm not sure if that came with this cumulative update, the Reliability History shows a Store update for Windows Calculator a few days ago on 23rd May so I may have had it already.

I've just restored a 15063.296 image on my test machine. The Calculator in that version of Creators Update is the old solid white one (or dark, depending on your theme) and is version 10.1703.601.0. This 'makeover' version is 10.1705.1302.0 and available as a Store update, independent of this KB4020102.

As a test I went into the Store settings and turned off 'Update apps automatically', I then installed KB4020102 by checking for updates in Windows Update. The calculator remained the old style version 10.1703.601.0 so no, the new-look calculator isn't delivered as part of the cumulative update.

Edit: reimaged back to 15063.296 and repeated the test, this time with 'Update apps automatically' turned on in the Store. That didn't update Calculator either.

Seems the only thing way to get the updated calculator is through the Store, either waiting for it to update apps automatically or by manually checking for updates.

 

DL for this CU stuck on 60% for a half hour now.

 

The statement "Microsoft is not currently aware of any issues with this update." can probably be revised. Following the update and subsequent cleanup, Cortana is no longer working at all, or at the least squirrely. A search for solutions returns none.

Now what to do?

 

I got an ESENT warning regarding a damaged webcache-whatever file. Never see such warnings normally, so right now restoring an image and try again. Tnx MS for this nice surprise just before my precious weekend *Sad

 

@magilla Had the same problem too. I uninstalled the Feedback Hub, reset the store following Brinks tut, reinstall the Feedback Hub and the Hub works again.

2017-05 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1703 for x64-based Systems (KB4020102) stopped me reaching desktop with cannot access/load personalisation.
Reboots etc failed to fix as Explorer was killed. Ended up with black screen with large hollow cursor?
Internet search for issue revealed a beta tester with this issued dated May 1st 2017 - this release? oBVIOUSLY NOT FIXED.

Anyway suggested fix was excessive registry copying and amendment something to do with stubui so not for the public. Luckily some bright spark fixed by enabling flight mode and rebooting and it worked?

Microsoft need to do better or more beta testing as this update failure on a stock Win 10 laptop is just unacceptable.

I can confirm the calculator update came from the Store since I did not have it after updating to 15063.332.

Now, since I have auto Store updates inhibited, I have to manually invoke any updates I really want.

So, I did just that for the calculator and now it looks like the newer version that everyone is enjoying.

 

I'm having a time with Cortana following all this and posting a new thread for help.

 

That is all well and good, but I don't have anything that says "Get Started" in my application list. Get Office is there but no Get Started.

 

@magilla, I had the same problem with the feedback hub as you.

First I went to settings and tried the trouble shooter, for Windows Store apps, but that did not help:




Then I went to Apps in settings and selected Feedback Hub\Advanced(not uninstall)
,



and ran Reset




I then opened Feedback Hub, and had to sign back in by selecting my Microsoft account.
Now Feedback Hub works again. *Smile

 

I was only able to get it to work by "uninstalling" the feedback app. Couldn't fix it by just a reset. fyi...
