  3. Yeah, me too. Between Gayle's needs and this thing, yesterday I was spent by the end of the day. Five hours of effort to no avail and fixed by simply uninstalling and starting over. I wish someone could tell me running disk cleanup wouldn't reproduce yesterdays failures.

All that being said, enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Well, I integrated this baby into vanilla Install.wim and it ballooned to over 4.2 GB even after a /StartComponentCleanup /ResetBase was done on the mounted image (...don't be a dumbo, like me, to extract the iso to a FAT32 partition - you'll get a "not enough disc space " error on dismounting with save/commit switch - took some head scratching to figure that one out...after resizing partitiions, and all *Rolleyes )

(BTW: the powershell mounting and dismount seems a lot faster than those of dism.exe)

Hell, I'm even on a 12yr old Dell P4 desktop with (2) SSDs and Win10 is booting faster and running smoother than any OS before on this machine. Never ever crashed on me, which happened with 7 and 8.1 a few times. Only thing that bums me right now, I'm on the latest 1607 and the Creators Update 1703 is just not coming through Windows Update. Rather than doing the manual install I'm contemplating to do a second, fresh install of the Creators Update with a dual boot option. Done that will all of the previous OS, is this just as simple with 10?

Ok... does Microsoft have anything against my PC or ISP? The update is not available for me, just like the previous update that came out mid-late April was not available for me either until the proper cumulative update on patch tuesday. This will probably be the same thing... I know I could just manually install it through a link, but does anyone have a good explanation as to why I'm not recieving this update through WU? And before you ask, no it's not just this PC I use either, several of my other PC's here have not been offered it either, both desktops and laptops. And no, I'm not on any metered connection. Windows Update are also checking for updates each day like normal, so nothing is wrong with it.

If you've got Creators and not getting this specific update automatically, it could just be that windows update hasn't got round to checking yet. It doesn't seem to work on a daily schedule as I recall, more like weekly - though it's been a long time since I waited for the automatic check, preferring to manually check for updates as soon as I hear an update has been released. Have you tried a manual check?

If you're waiting for Creators, quite possibly possibly they do have something against your PC - or more specifically against certain hardware it contains that has known issues. Such PCs will be blocked from receiving the update until drivers have been updated to deal with these issues, for example...

I'm not talking about the rollout for the creators update, I'm already on it, I even recieved it on day one, i'm talking about this cumulative update. Are updates like this one pushed out the same way as a full-OS revision? If so then that doesn't make much sense to me because why on earth did they push me the CU on day one if it has issues with drivers, then to further block me?

Yes, I see. I've updated my reply with some thoughts on that.

    Ah, whops.

My Windows' are checking for updates automatically every day at noon-ish. No updates are available. It doesn't matter if I click manually either, nothing is found. This was exactly the same thing that happened last time until the proper cumulative update in May came out, that one I got. So clearly things are working correctly, but for whatever reason Microsoft doesn't want to me to get these updates that doesn't come out on patch tuesday. I double checked my connections and all the metered options are turned off. I even tested some laptops through ethernet aswell instead of wi-fi and nothing.

    No clue.
