Windows 10: Cumulative Update KB4038788 Windows 10 v1703 Build 15063.608

Receive the update on 3 Office Systems (one still in process) and other than the time it took, all seems to have gone well.

And still no addressed issue for windows update not automatically checking. Currently at 22% and so far it has taken 15 minutes to get that far.

 

Took less than 3 minutes to install.

2:48 to be exact.

 

Disk Clean up is taking forever (technical term meaning I stopped counting after half an hour). TiWorker.exe and cleanmgr.exe are using 95-100% CPU time between them - stuck on 'Cleaning: Windows Update Clean-up'. Same thing on my 1607 machine *Sad

 

installed now and so far everything working

 

Some issues in aftermath, lots of start menu entries greyed out even though they launch ok. But messed several native apps up such as messaging, Xbox, one note. They have exclamation mark and claim they need to re install and repair. Done the trick with most but messaging keeps giving an error!

 

All updated.

 

Consolidating, permanently applying and compressing all those non-security fixes. chugga-chug-chug!

 

Two systems hang also. I canceled and rebooted and it looks like the cleanup worked.

Not having any of those issues I'm afraid/glad to say!

 

I had one hang....on the Release Preview ring. I think it was the &^$^%^$ MRT. At 26% it just stopped with 1% cpu and 60% disk i/o on some obscure service. Screen had 2 lines of update History instead of Check for updates and Update History. Rebooted at it took off again @ 26% and seemed to finish normally (?).

 

Same here. A reboot fixed it.

Edge is involved in another Known Issue with this KB (see notes page #1). I don't believe in coincidences.......
