Goodness knows what MS have done to Edge in this update, but it's not fatal. You just have to open Edge and leave it open for up to five minutes while it sorts itself out. After that it's back to working normally.

Ran an SFC scan and found corrupt files and repaired them...in process of 2nd scan...looks like they put out a less than stellar update!!

Mine ran smooth & fast. Wanted to check it out to see if the Disk Cleanup issue was fixed but it isn't. At least on my machine. No noticeable issues with this update though. Took about 10 minutes to complete.

BTW no Edge problems. In fact I'm using right now as I type this. All good here.

Did you run its 'Clean up system files' option? You wouldn't need to if you were just testing that particular issue. It's the cleaning up of system files, particularly the updates clean up, that took over an hour on each of my machines.

Just ran it after reading your reply. Still ran smooth and fast; however the left over Internet files still remain per the Disk cleanup issue I linked to.

  6. Must be lucky did 2 pc's 25mins all up but laptop took 70mins all these included cleanup I always cleanup after update even on insider build m/c. Found Edge to be snappier on all mc's should be interesting with memory leaks plugged

Damn, I also had to sign back in to Cortana, and in Settings app verify myself this morning. *Banghead

Stuck at 6% this afternoon; when I checked back in early evening it was at 26% and is still at 26% a few hours later, even though I haven't been using my computer. Previous downloads have taken over the system, so I guess I'm lucky I can do anything besides watch the little wheel spin. I can hear disk noises, so maybe it's making progress. Fingers crossed . . .

Same 40 minute round trip for both Desktop ( 64bit Pro) and Laptop ( 64bit Home)

No issues with OneDrive ( actually updated to 17.3.6966.824 on 09/09/17 )

and sfc /scannow came up clean

I just wanted to chime in that there have been issues for some HP users that explorer.exe hangs on startup, leaving you with a black screen and cursor. Some have reported that people were getting 5-10 minute hangs, although for my wife's HP Spectre x360 it seems like it takes much longer.

After updating, I also experienced App Readiness crashing. And the Edge glitch some have reported. But I think the Edge thing was with MSN and not the browser itself. I also saw many DeviceManagement-Enterprise-Diagnostics-Provider error 822 logged in Events log (whatever that is). Anyway, I rebooted a couple of times and have turned off and restarted the laptop once after the update and all seems working perfectly well. No apparent issue whatsoever and no new errors in Event log on boot that did not appear before the update. I think the update is OK.

  12. That is what happened to my HP... took ages to install then a black screen for a while... I powered off with the power button and back on and it seems to be all OK.... tried a shut down and restart a couple of times and all seems OK ...I HOPE...

Did seem to take a very long time and the process seemed long..

WTF have they done to Edge?! It's a mess. I was first greeted by an unusual slow page load (on a SSDrive!) when I open it today after Windows pushed out this update to my PC. Then it went blank (white). Now it's starting to crash and recover when typing this comment. If Microsoft wants users to NOT use Edge then this tactic is working...

EDIT: OK, it seems calm for now. But I'm afraid to close and re-open it now just to experience this bug again.

EDIT2: It's happening again upon relaunch... But it seems that if I leave the tab open for a few seconds to a minute then it will sort itself out. Also, it seems to happen more frequently on the "news" homepage - when you first open Edge. And for some reason they activated the button to go to that homepage up next to the refresh button, I can't remember that being there.

Updated 2 laptops. Went fast and smooth. No HP related problems seen. My Edge browser (which I don't use) was blank at first and wouldn't do anything after doing the update but a laptop/Win 10 restart seems to have fixed it and now it appears to work normally.
