On top of that, as far as I know, whenever a site is asking to download Flash in order for it to work in Edge, I never did. I only toggled the button for Flash in Advanced Settings to "On" as per Bree's screenshot. Thereafter, I only refreshed the page and that will do the trick.

Actually, you can't - even if you wanted to. Flash in Edge (and IE) is supplied by Microsoft through windows update and all other ways of installing it are blocked by the system. You can install Flash in other browsers, but not the MS-supplied ones. Only windows update can do that.

  3. Thanks for the tip. I would have never known, for like I said I never tried to download Adobe Flash when asked by a site. But the question remains: Why taffy078's one is not working?. Could it be malware? Maybe , he should try to run adwCleaner from:

*Arrow Downloads - AdwCleaner - ToolsLib

and scan his PC, just to make sure.

Hello Bree. I was actually referring to the BBC's main News items - I'm not 'into' BBC iPlayer. Here's a new example taken from What will stop these self-driving lorries colliding?. Every time I try to attach an image via Insert Image there are no "Choose File/Upload File boxes so in my last reply I inserted the image via Go Advanced>paperclip. But tonight on the two previous times I tried that the screen froze. I simply haven't the brain-power left at this time of the night to delve into the cause again so will try again at a more sensible time later. But if you go to that link, you'll see that immediately below "Faster communication will make it possible to reduce the distance between vehicles in the platoon, which might further reduce the air drag and give positive effects on fuel consumption," he explains. This could help create "a more efficient, greener" world.
is "WATCH: What is 5G" and that's when I get the "Update Flash" message.

Hi IronZorg89. Thanks for that. I've run SUPERAntiSpyware and then MBAM - no malware. It's driving me bonkers!

Me again Bree just before I leave go to bed. (1) IE: I've stuck with IE as I don't like being forced by MS to use Edge (which still has many problems judging by the complaints & queries on MSComm) but with all this palaver, and the constant problems, I've finally decided to drop it. Another job for tomorrow. (2) Could the fact that yours works and mine doesn't (and we have identical WIn10 builds and versions of Flash) be because my PC is OEM? (3) There were four KB Updates for my Win10 Home in September (9th) : KB4038788, KB4038806 (Flash), KB890830 (Mal. Soft. RT) and this one KB4040724. Except the last one wasn't installed until Oct 4th for some strange reason. Was it installed late on yours?

That too is available in HTML5 and plays in Edge with Flash turned off.

Yes, I get that too in IE. Or at least, the 'browse' button only appears about 1 in 10 times.None of my other browsers have this problem, just IE. However, if I 'go advanced' the 'Insert image' button work properly every time in IE. I don't see the 'paperclip' because I have the 'Message Editor Interface' set to 'Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG Editing' in https://www.tenforums.com/profile.php?do=editoptions

I prefer IE because I feel it renders text a little more legibly than other browsers, but I use Edge and Firefox too. To be honest, I don't really find much to choose between them these days. They all work reliably. I do use Edge exclusively for my banking, as it's supposed to be the most secure (being permanently sandboxed).

My PC was OEM Win7, upgraded free to Win10 Home in 2015, and subsequently upgraded to all new versions when they were released.

Yes, I have had all those updates, including that last one. It was released on September 25th to fix Edge problems caused by KB4038788, that's why it's later than the rest.

It would be driving bonkers as well. It seems, however, there is a way to reinstall Edge in Windows 10. Check out the following link:

*Arrow How to Reinstall Microsoft Edge Browser on Windows 10 Quickly

There are two articles in this link. It is the second one in the middle of the page.

One word of caution though, I have never tried it myself; so, it would be a good idea to make a system image backup before, just in case something goes kerflooey.
