Undedist, did u install any flash player updates ?

 

Just installed the update and all seams to be well

 

This has failed to install for me 3 times once from WU and twice from the download,

 

Sounds like your in similar boat to me. On one machine all ok and installed but our second living room box I came back to an error saying fail to install and try again later. I set it to check for updates again and it found the cu again but stayed on downloading 0% for ages. So I thought a restart would do it some good. But instead of restarting its stuck on ‘getting windows ready’ for about half hour now and going nowhere fast ! Am torn on whether to force shut down the thing by holding down power but I know during something like this that could make things worse!

edit - it’s finally restarted, went straight into windows update where it said ‘we couldn’t install some updates as your machine was off’ so I clicked retry and it’s showing the update again with ‘downloading updates 100%’ but just stuck on that now! I really hope something is going on in the background and it’ll kick into like or start saying preparing to install but doesn’t look promising !

 

Installed here finally, took about 40 mins to d/l. No problems except for slow d/l here. *Smile

 

Same for me, 40+ minutes to download/install - the 'Configuring Windows...' restart was quicker than usual though.

 

Once I get to the "Configuring Windows" part that usually goes pretty fast anyhow on this computer. *Smile

 

No, some of us will just be upgrading. *Smile

 

I'm still worrying about that part Bree .....I did have to clean install last 2 times, and its a pain in the butt, like we all know. *Confused

 

All done here. No issues. I think the trick is to restart again after the immediate restart.

 

What can I say?

2017-09 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 (KB4040724) breaks IE

 

I haven't been able to open IE since before this CU, so no difference there.

 

That MAY explain why .....and mine IS tweaked a lot. *Smile

 

I havn't even tried in over a year ...LoL

Ok just tried ....had to see for myself ....fired right up, no problems. Then wanted me to set it up. I just closed it.

 

Yes, it's a 'tweak-free' zone here, perhaps that's my secret to success?
