    I'm used to waiting a long time at 'Preparing to configure...' before the 0%-30% count starts (probably because I have an HDD, not an SSD). This time it was quick.

    Twice I had a message that PC had to reboot immediately on checking for updates. Ran WU troubleshooter seems to have fixed that problem. Anyone else seen that?

    Well Bree I can't keep my fingers out of this rig, I just can't run a plain vanilla Windows *Smile
    Am surprised that after all your updates, it didn't install extra recovery partitions thou .....because it usually does at some point.

    I just turned my puter on about an hour ago and after starting to read this thread, went over and checked for updates. It was sitting there waiting for a restart. Once I pushed restart it was less than 4 minutes before 15063.674 was finished. I did a (Winver) to verify the version and I.E. started up?? *Eek I.E. starting up by itself has happened in the past but not to often after I do a Winver. It usually happens only once and does not repeat.

    Wouldn't all the installed updates be toast anyway once the upgrade is done ? You would have a clean install with zero updates at that point. It just seems too near to the big day to be worrying over this, at least for those that intend to either clean install or force the upgrade.

    Only if I have to. I only only do a clean install when I have to. A new system or when I mess up the OS and figure a clean install would be better than restoring from a Macrium image for example.
