Really? people still don't believe that this is RTM? LOL, maybe a cumulative update before October 17th, no more

Like others, I believe is probably now RTM but the bit I find odd is that we have a full upgrade to go from 16299.0 to 16299.15.

I understand the reasons etc. What I do not understand is why they simply did not number it 16300.0 - the only thing I can think of is that Skippy builds were 163XX and they were trying to stay away from 163XX numbers to avoid any confusion (either that all their internal documentation was predicated/promised around version 16299 and it is too late to change it -LOL)

As far as I know, this is a first - a full in-build upgrade - does this mean even when RTM, MS could do that e.g. if they got an issue that could not be fixed via normal cumulative updates?

I imagine it was just sequentially numbered as the build after 16298, and then it turned out to be good enough to release. It's better practice to number things sequentially and not try to embed meanings in codes/numbers.
I seem to remember one of the earlier Updates (Anniversary or Creators?) was similar and there were significant Cumulative Updates on top of the original build by the release date?

I downloaded the Insider ISOs for Creators Update when it was in Preview, and then the official MCT ISOs later.
When I was running a duplicate file checking programme to try to free up space on the computer, it said the Insider and MCT ISOs were identical.
So they may release ISOs like that again?

For all of those creating iso, don't forget trick to turn off Defender (disconnecting fron internet of course) to speed up uup process if you wish.

I need to clean-install my old machine with 1511 (which is about to go out of support) which has stopped getting updates and also has a driver which I haven't been able to fix by uninstalling/ reinstalling the driver itself. Also it has a second driver issue - it has a Broadcom 440x which means the regular 1703 ISO won't clean-install on that machine without manually adding a cumulative update to the ISO, and also I will need to go to 1709 at some point so don't really want to install 1703.

The question is, do I hold out a little longer for Official 16299 ISOs to appear, or do I use UUPtoISO (with cereberus's useful tip above) to make it myself in a VM?

I suspect there's a good chance that by the time I'd done UUPtoISO in a VM (which will mean a clean install to an earlier Insider version, then UUP to 16299), the official ISOs might have appeared.*Confused
