When you said to download the lastest Cumulative Update KB4048955 (OS Build 16299.64), do I download the latest Delta Cumulative one or the latest Cumulative one?

I just installed this update and I have to say, it was really fast one and no issues so far.
Good luck with installing new updates.

 

HA! Faster than lightning! Already installed... buuuuuuuutttttttt........... The procents during reboot only go to 30%, reboots, a black screen for 2(?) minutes and then back to the desktop. That normal?

 

Yes, it's normal. It did exactly the same thing to me. I saw that before - older updates.

Very quick on one machine. On another the malicious tool is taking a long time to install. It’s been stuck on installing 0% for a good 20 minutes or so. It’s a slow celeron based machine but surely it shouldn’t be taking that long with it.

I find the naming a bit puzzling, the malicious tool makes reference to insider but I steer well clear of that sort of thing. Also why do cumulative updates often now say for amd64 based systems. I’d imagine the greater user base use intel processors over AMD. Or am I reading that wrong and amd64 means something else?

 

I think it's related to AMD graphics as I have an Intel processor and I always receive AMD 64 bit updates

 

Yeah, the amd64 has no reference to AMD chips whatsoever.

 

It's in reference to the Windows side-by-side processing, WinSxS. If you look in that directory C:\Windows\WinSxS, you will see tons of folders beginning with "amd64". It's normal.
