Windows 10: Cumulative Update KB4093112 Windows 10 v1709 Build 16299.371 - Apr. 10

Reset the Windows Update using the batch file.

Restarted Windows.

Now, as one would expect, all records of previous windows updates are gone.

Tried istalling the update and again got the same error - 0x800702bc - which as I understand is a failure to run a restart procedure correctly (?)

Tried installing the update manually, to which a reply was that it HAD ALREADY BEEN INSTALLED (!)

Also ran Dism and sfc scans to no avail.

I really don't want to, but apparently there is no other way than to run an 'in-place' update of windows, ... is there?

 

I'm confuse. Is this the Spring Creator's Update?

 

Nope. Not yet.

 

That is exactly what was going to be my next suggestion: a repair install (in-place upgrade). According to my experience most users (members of this forum) are usually luckier with the repair install. It is usually longer to do, but worth the effort. *Wink

 

That was what i thought after i downloaded the creation tool and noticed is old. Will there be an updated tool?

 

What theme are you using to get those nice frames around your windows? That's how Windows should look!

 

SCU would be a Feature Update and not a Cumulative one.

Up to Version 1709 OS Build 16299.371 Downloaded and installed quickly. Everything running ok here.

 

This update went smoothly. I saw no unusual behavior from my PC during and after the update.
Update showed up in windows update history as installed today.
Winver says I'm on 16299.371

 

I installed the update with no problems, but "Windows Update Cleanup" isn't appearing for me in disk cleanup afterwards. Anyone else having this issue?

No, it appeared for me on both the machines I updated. Are you sure you clicked the 'clean up system files' button? You need to clean up system files in order to clean up windows update.

 

Yes, I always do this after every update. This is the first update after a reset, could that have anything to do with this? "Update Cleanup" appears in the scanning bar too, just not in the actual results. Ugh, what a pain.

 

It only appears in the results if there's actually anything to clean up. With this being the first update after a reset there probably won't be any previous updates to clean up.
