Windows 10: Cumulative updates 21H2 and 22H2 fail to apply on W10 20H1

Hello. In the past years I tried to update the system a few times. Antivirus, driver and other software updates did complete flawlessly, however it seems that Windows Update did not update Windows' core components at all. For security reasons I would like to finally update my system.. OS: Windows 10 Pro, 2004, build 19041.264WindowsUpdate.log : https://0x0.st/o645.log retrieved with Get-WindowsUpdateLogCBS.log: https://0x0.st/o64R.logI expected the update to fail again, thus I did run "sfc /scannow" before this update attempt, but no issues were found. Windows 10 update failing (21H2)

I'm having the exact same issue, and I had the same issue with 20H1 (I think). After a lot of struggling I figured out how to fix the 20H1 issue, and is was simple in the end, but I can't for my life remember what I did. I should have documented it. Now I'm having the same issue with neither cumulative update 21H1 nor 21H2 being able to install.

If I only could remember how I fixed the 20H1 issue, then maybe the same would apply again.

If you opted to join the Windows insider program, after you restart the computer you would be able to get the 20h1 immediately when you update Windows 10.
